Real Estate Ramblings and my favorite ditty

Dust, mop, vacuum, windex, wipe dirty fingerprints off everything, repeat.
I don't think my house has been this clean for this long ever.
We are completely submersed in the process of home selling and it as gone better and worse than I expected.
Keeping the house clean hasn't been a problem.
Staying patient with the ridiculous messes my kids make often by accident have been.
I've been using my outside voice inside a bit too often.
My constant prayer is for peace and grace.
I quit praying for patience a long time ago because it seems God always wanted to teach me that by requiring me to practice it a lot. :)

The two weeks it's been on the market has felt like two months.
How do people do this over and over again?
When we buy our next house I hope it's the one I die in may years from now so I never have to repeat this process!!
The good news is there have been some people interested and we've had several showings which is encouragement to stay the course.

Big life changes often make you re-evaluate goals and dreams.
Whether it be a new job or a new house, it alters your life just enough that it's easy to lose focus and discern what you really want.
As we consider where our next home should be we are surprised to find that we would be ok with staying in town.
And this from two country-folk!
Turns out the convenience of a convenience store 2 minutes away has more pull than we realized.
Sidewalks are great for those bike rides our kids love.
Houses nearby just might mean kids nearby.

The jury is still out on what our next move is but we're still looking, thinking and dreaming.
While the moments of being overwhelmed with the chaos have been frequent, there is an underlying peace that allows me to rest in it.
God keeps reminding me in that time where everything is too much that He is enough to take care of even this...He cares about every little thing.

One of my favorite bands of all time has an amazing song that fills the deep corners of my heart with hope.
The words to the song These Hard Times by NeedToBreathe go like this:

Give me something brighter
Give me something I can see
Give me something vicious
Give me something I can be
Give me all the love and peace
To end these wars
Give me something sacred
Something worth fighting for

It's clear enough to me
The ugliness I see
Is evidence of who I need

Give me an answer
Give me a way out
Give me the faith
To believe in these hard times

Give me motivation
Give me all my heart's desires
Show me something gorgeous
Show me till my eyes get tired
Give me all the drums and
Show me how to play them loud
Show me how to move
When I can't feel that you're around

It's clear enough to me
The ugliness I see
Is evidence of who I need

Give me an answer
Give me a way out
Give me the faith
To believe in these hard times

We hide like thieves in shadows
Scared of the sun
We know the light will find us
Us and all we've done

Give me an answer
Give me a way out
Give me the faith
To believe in these hard times

  1. Need to Breathe opened for Taylor Swift last year in Orlando! Fun to *see* them again on your blog.
